In a handful of places in East Africa you can trek to a number of habituated chimpanzee families, most well-known are those made famous by Jane Goodall’s research and conservation in the Mahale Mountains and Gombe Stream National Park. You can also see chimps in Uganda and if you’re lucky, in parts of Rwanda and north-western Tanzania.
