TrueAfrica guests can visit local people to learn more about their culture and traditions; it’s something we really recommend. A huge part of the colour and variety of this wonderful continent lies in the incredible diversity and amazing history of its people and it would be a shame to miss out on this aspect of Africa.

As we are based in Tanzania, we have an exclusive visiting agreement with a Maasai boma (family village) in Esilalei and we also organise half day trips to Mkuru to visit women that work with Maasai Women Art (MWA), an amazing jewelry and craft project we are very proud to support.

We also organise trips to Monduli, near Arusha to visit the famous Maasai warriors who ran the London Marathon to raise money for drinking water purification in their village.

All these trips give you amazing insight into the lives of the Maasai and the cultural and historical background of these proud warriors and cattle herders. You can have a local lunch and go on a walking trip with the Maasai where you’ll learn about local wildlife and their traditional natural medicines.
